Church-Planting Resources

The following are resources recommended by Terry Cuthbert, Associate Director, Church Multiplication.

Websites and Blogs

www.churchplantingcanada.ca Church Planting Canada was initiated at a Congress in 1997 in Bramalea, Ontario. Since that time it has developed into a broad network of Canadian leaders who work together for the multiplication of churches across Canada. This website contains a broad range of resources from an extensive bibliography to seminar offerings.

www.churchplanters.com  Churchplanters.com was founded in 2006 and has quickly grown to be one of the largest church planting organizations in North America. It exists to give church planters and church planting leaders permission to do what it takes to reach people who are disconnected from Christ and the church.

www.acts29network.org – one of the leading church planting networks in North America and beyond

www.redeemercitytocity.com – a key resource for those wanting to learn more about urban church planting

www.edstetzer.com – Ed Stetzer is one of the leading voices and researchers in Church Planting today.

www.jdpayne.org – J. D. Payne teaches and writes about church planting from a global perspective.

Books

Planting Missional Churches, Ed Stetzer, 2006, Broadman and Holman Publishers. This is the accumulated wisdom of an experienced consultant and practitioner. He suggests a number of websites to consult.

Church Planting Landmines, Mistakes to avoid in years 2 through 10, Tom Nebel & Gary Rohrmayer, ChurchSmart Resources, 2005. A small book with lots of practical wisdom.

Launch, Starting a New Church from Scratch. Nelson Searcy & Kerrick Thomas, 2006, Regal Books. Again, a small book with lots of practical wisdom.

Big Dreams in Small Places, Tom Nebel, 2002, ChurchSmart. This book develops the reasoning for planting in small towns. Tom has an excellent chapter called ”What Wal-Mart knows about church planting.”

Church Planter's Toolkit, Robert Logan, 1991, ChurchSmart. This resource has helped more church planters in North America than all other resources combined.
