Paving the Way for Expansion

Since SEMBEQ’s founding in 1973, it has been renting its space from the Association of Evangelical Baptist Churches. Since that time, SEMBEQ has expanded its programs and responsibilities making the space inadequate. By faith, through the grace of God and for His glory, SEMBEQ has purchased a new building in the east of Montreal. The new building gives SEMBEQ more than twice its previous space and is allowing the seminary to expand its ministry of training pastors and leaders within the local church for the work of ministry.

Our new conference room allows for live streaming of courses. Students located in different areas in Quebec can actually interact live with students in the classroom. This type of innovation is increasing the reach of our program and removing barriers for students across Quebec who want to be trained. Please pray for our efforts as we work together to train students’ head, heart and hand for the work of ministry.

Along with expanding its owns programs, the new building is being used to house the office for the Association of Evangelical Baptist Churches, the Evangelical Baptist Church of Montreal East, and will soon house a Christian bookstore.

SEMBEQ moved into the building in December 2012 with 75% of the $1.6 million needed for the new building already donated. We still need to raise an additional $350,000. Our goal is to celebrate our 40th anniversary with the inauguration of a debt-free building. Picture a wall needing 32,000 bricks valued at $50 each. Since 75% of our wall has been completed, there are only 7000 bricks remaining. Please visit our Add a Brick page to have a part in completing this project at http://www.sembeq.qc.ca/addabrick.html

The Lord always keeps us dependent on Him and He never fails to provide for our every need. Remember to thank God for His tender mercies shown each day. Thank you so much for your prayers and financial gifts.
