Filling the Gaps at Shikarpur Christian Hospital

It was only one year ago that FAIR  started the Filling the Gaps appeal in support of the urgent  infrastructure needs at Shikarpur Christian Hospital. The staff housing and the hospital roof and walls were badly in need of repairs and renovations, and we required additional staff housing for incoming missionary personnel. We have been overwhelmed by the generous response of the Fellowship community and are pleased to report that work has already begun on two of the three main projects outlined in the appeal.

So far, construction of one new housing unit is well under way. Renovations have been completed for an existing missionary housing unit as well as four staff housing units. These improvements are impacting not only those who will live in the housing, but also provide work for local businesses and laborers in Shikarpur, since materials and workers are sourced locally. There are many projects related to the construction, renovations, and other urgent maintenance needs. Project oversight has been one of our biggest challenges, and we are grateful to God that one of our maintenance staff is proving to be very qualified in overseeing repair projects.

We have much to be thankful to the Lord for. He has answered our prayers for new missionaries to come work at the hospital, and provided funding through FAIR’s Filling the Gaps project to maintain functional and welcoming housing for them. The work that has been done so far is encouraging, and we ask that you pray with us for the remaining renovations and construction to be completed in a sound and timely manner. With the help of you, our  Fellowship family, we are ensuring that the staff of Shikarpur Christian Hospital can continue to focus on providing excellent physical and spiritual care to the women and children of the Sindh province for many more years to come. Thank you!
