JBEQ Partnership

Fellowship International has newly partnered with the AÉBÉQ Region’s long term and dynamic summer outreach team (JBEQ). Teams are headed this summer to France, Poland and the Congo!

‘Renaissance’ in Europe

Our France field reports being very encouraged on many fronts:

Guy Leduc (Lachine, QC)– Serving in Lille, Guy’s apologetic seminars demonstrating the accuracy of the Bible through geology  are well received and increasingly attended by a high percentage of non believers.

Carole Allard (Mont St-Hilaire, QC) – In her new role, Carole ministers in a non-alcoholic bar in Lille doing evangelism and discipling new believers. She also works as an administrator for the France for Christ Regional Director.

Jean-Pierre and Abby Greth (Alma, QC) – The Greths report from Druligen that the Lord is doing many good things through “Discovery Groups.” Jean-Pierre is training eight young men in Dole.  Abby has seen fruit in personal ministry with women!

M and S Wall (Longbranch, Toronto, ON) – M and S, ministering in Eastern Paris, have seen the church mobilized for many encouraging outreach events.  New facilities are being considered and French leadership is being trained.

Pierre and Jeanine Bolduc (Richview, Toronto, ON) are also encouraged in their church planting ministry in Eastern Paris. They have also seen new contacts made in Paris through direct outreach to Muslims.  In addition, Pierre is coordinating the first JBEQ team from Quebec coming this summer.

Thierry and Rebecca Hirschy (Claye) – National workers, the Hirschy’s, have seen six adolescents baptized and over 200 attending the special service.

People - Bruno, Mario and Ruth

Also in Europe:

Mario and Rose Bruno
(Downsview, Toronto, ON) – Mario reports unprecedented invitation to teach Roman school children the gospel message. His teaching received such a favourable response that he has been invited back next year with the promise of more classes!

LeadersFor Growth

LeadersFor
is church-based theological training using the BILD (Biblical Institute of Leadership Development) method to train pastors and church leaders. LeadersFor is presently in India, Honduras, Uganda, Guatemala, El Salvador and Kenya. We have received invitations from the Congo, Rwanda, Philippines, Nigeria, Malawi, Tanzania, Nicaragua and Mexico, and we have been asked to train new cohorts in India and Eastern Uganda.   We need new pastors and churches from Canada to help facilitate this ministry.

Pakistan ministry
During the crisis of the devastating floods, many Muslims saw the love of God in action for the first time through compassionate ministry of our personnel and Shikarpur Christian Hospital.

New church plants in Indonesia are underway with the help of Project 2011—Operation Kick Start. Edwin and Helmi Karwur (Otterville, ON) are involved in the ministry in Indonesia.

People - Buhler, Mark and CatherineNew “Field”
Canada is now an official mission field of Fellowship International.  The demographics of our country have changed dramatically to become very multicultural. The Canadian Intercultural Missions Focus is an initiative whereby Fellowship International partners with our Regions to see missionary personnel reach out to immigrant populations.  Mark and Catherine Buhler (Campbell River, BC), reassigned from Kenya, will be the first couple in this new initiative starting in January 2012.

Missions Training
The next session of the Global Adventure Program will begin at Heritage College and Seminary in September, 2011.  This is an intensive, year-long course that highlights God’s missionary work and culminates in participants serving several weeks overseas.  As well, this past May, a short term missions team comprised mostly of Heritage students went to a restricted-access country spreading the Gospel through creative arts ministry.

“See I am doing a new thing.  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  I am a making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:19).
